hp notebook 15-bs234wm
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

This has been a pain, This was my brothers, he bought and used it until it didn't work and sent it to me to fix. Downgraded from windwos 10 to Win 7 and now almost nothing works as there are no Drivers, tried to restore from 😧 nothing there. Tried to install some drivers and get the message "The procedure entry point SetDefaultDllDirectories could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernrl32.dll"

The only thing that works is the cd/dvd drive. I used the troubleshooter and have about 15 devices without drivers. I have no idea what I'm doing and any help would be appreciated.

Hi:

That notebook was only designed to work with W10 64 bit.

Intel only developed W10 drivers for the graphics, and USB 3.1 ports.

You can fix it easily unless there is a hardware issue, by using another working Windows PC with W7 64 bit or newer, and use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with the notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...

You can check if the PC is supported by the cloud recovery tool at the link below.  It should be.

You will never get W7 to work right on that model notebook, so no one will be able to help you with that.

OK  that sounds great, is there a way I can do that with my desk top  running Windows Vista.

Thank You Paul

You're very welcome.

You are going to have to find a PC with W7 x64 or newer on it.

The only thing working on the laptop is the cd/dvd drive.
