By BIOS is not supported Extreme Edition ?

I theory original CPU that came with and 3940XM have same socket and are supported by the Motherboard HM77.

The only question is BIOS if would allow it and not the motherboard.

You asked. Generally only CPUs listed in the Manual will work. Sometimes others will work but we can't tell you that it will. Whether its the BIOS or the motherboard hardware makes little difference if the system will not POST with that CPU installed.
