backlit keyboard not working

Product Name: hp envy touchsmart 4-1195ca
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Only 3 lights on backlit keyboard are working: Volume on/off, wifi on/off, and backlighting button on/off. Is there a way to troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to this problem? Or does this require replacing the keyboard all together.

 

The keyboard is in mint condition so very frustrating

All drivers are up to date. I went manually and checked all items as a just in case. The 3 lights I mentioned previously still work, however still the keyboard backlight does not turn on. 

 

I have recently done the windows 10 anniversary update and double checked the drivers both for laptop and keyboard specifically and still nothing needed to be updated.

 

This is incredibly frustrating!

 

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

 

I've also check the HP assistant and that is pretty pointless.
