@Mgainer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

  • What update broke the battery?
  • What is the exact issue you are facing?
  • Are you getting any error related to the battery?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

if its too low i get something that says battery needs to be replaced. I am not sure which windows update affected it. but i think its still holding a little bit of a charge because i plugged it in and the light on my laptop turned white even though the battery meter on the screen says it doesn't. also I took my laptop to work today (i am a caregiver) which is about a five-minute walk from my house. I had it unplugged for about 30 minutes and i didn't get that message so i don't know what to think. will try update and let you know
