im trying to fix my battery it doesnt stay charged for long not being on the charger. i did a battery test and it says it needs to be calibrated and to do so it needs to be charged to 100 percent but it only charges to 52 percent and wont go any higher. will the calibration still work or is there another work around to calibrate it.

Can you take a screenshot of the advanced results of the battery test? Your laptop has just about reached the age where a battery replacement is likely your best course of action.

That is a very old and tired battery that has its best use well behind it. It only holds half the charge it did when new and has over 600 cycles. Time for a new one. Post back if you need more help with that.

figured it wouldnt be like new but it only stays charged for 15-30 minutes off the charger and sometimes even less. is there any way for me to calibrate it for better battery life without fully charging it or is the battery just done.

That is like trying to drive a car on a bald tire. Get a new battery.
