I need to replace my notebook battery for the second time in as many years. I would like my notebook to run longer on battery power. The OEM battery for this notebook is a 6 cell. Can I replace the old battery with a 9 cell battery without harming my notebook in order to have longer life on battery?

Hello @stevecripe57,

I checked the Manual and found 9 Cell is not recommended for your PC model.

Manual : http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02770249.pdf

See here : http://www8.hp.com/emea_middle_east/en/products/oas/product-detail.html?oid=4085054#!tab=features

Although HP does not list the specifications, a 9 cell will have more run time due to the fact it has 3 more battery cells in side, but is also larger physically and will protrude from the notebook either from the back or bottom or both.
