HP Notebook - 15-dw1083wm

15-dw1083wm laptop. a bios update killed the original mobo. replaced it with a compatible board. upon 1st boot it went into the process of updating the bios. completed the flashing and verification processes then went dead. power was never disconnected during the process. the win key + b combo does nothing. there is a brief screen flash then more nothing.

question 1: why did it go into the bios update process? is it because the hard drive was in it and there was an incomplete update attached to it? i'm not keen on dropping another $40 just to find that out.

question 2: (though i probably know the answer) can hp be at all liable for their product destroying this laptop?

thanks and rock on.

i can not believe it. literally, and i literally mean literally, the instant i submitted the original post the fan turned on and then off. then it began booting into windows and is now fully loaded. i was sullen in the fact that this laptop was forever gone but now it is like being born again. it makes me wonder if the original board was actually dead, too. but that is something i will never find out unless i put it back in, and i aint gonna do that.

rock on
