Hello guys,

I would like to ask if I can add SSD with my HDD that I have in my laptop, I have 8 Gb ram
Is it better to add another 8Gb ram and have 2x 8Gb ram or should I get 1x 16Gb ram?
Thanks in advance.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05235424

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade info and supported drive types.

Your notebook does not have a M.2 slot to add storage.

You would need to replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

I disagree with the memory info in the manual.

You should be able to add another 8 GB memory chip to the existing one and have 16 GB.

A single 16 GB memory chip will not work and 2 x 8 GB would run better anyway since it would run in dual channel mode.

Here is the crucial memory/SSD report for a similar model to yours...
