Can i add a regular internal ssd to the laptop and which ones and what data cable do i need? I am thinking of adding

SAMSUNG 870 QVO-Series 2.5" SATA III Internal SSD Single Unit Version 1TB (MZ-77Q1T0B/AM)

or

Team Group T-FORCE VULCAN G 2.5" 1TB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) T253TG001T3C301

@MilRob

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD installed on the PC. Refer http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04691689 Table 1-1 Product components and their descriptions.

HP does not recommend to use different parts as they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate. However, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

@MilRob

Thank you for posting back.

HP does not recommend to use Third party parts as they are not tested by HP and may not be accurate. However, you could change the configuration at your own discretion and also you can check with local service center to install SSD appropriately.

Even you can reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
