Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

Models with the Pentium/Celeron processors have one memory slot.

Chapter 6 has the procedure to remove and replace the memory.

I have hp 240 g5 notebook with pentium processor. And you told that pentium processor has one memory space for RAM installation.

But please see the attached image ,here, it is showing that one slot has 4gb RAM and slot 2 is empty.

You'll have to open it up and check.

I can only go by what the manual indicates...one slot for Pentium processors.

Max memory is 8 GB in the slot.

Do not rely 100% on software reports.

Then, please tell me the steps that I will follow.

And I badly needed 8gb RAM.

And please tell how can I buy RAM.

I have already given you the service manual.

Please read chapter 6 for the memory removal and replacement procedures as I had indicated earlier.

This would be the compatible 8 GB memory chip for your model when you confirm that there is only one slot.

Hi:

As you can see from your screenshot, there is only one usable memory slot.

So, you will have to remove the 4 GB memory chip and replace it with an 8 GB memory chip.

8 GB is the most the slot and processor can support.
