Yes on your model the processor is socketed hence the CPU can be removed and replaced. Top compatible upgrade is a
Intel Core i7-3632QM (2.2 GHz, SC turbo up to 3.1 GHz, 1600 MHz/6 MB L3 cache, quad core, 35 W) 701658-001
The clock speed on this CPU is lower than yours but 4 cores rather than 2 so in some apps it will perform better. Not sure it would be worth the expense and hassle to do it but you just asked hypothetically can it be done and yes it can. Details in the manual I linked. You use the same heatsink and fan.
