@kusumwal

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. If the issue persists, follow next steps.

If the computer starts and you would like to test the AC adapter, use the following steps:

  1. Make sure the power cord and adapter is connected to the system and wall outlet.

  2. Press and hold the power button until the computer turns off completely.

  3. Turn on the computer.

  4. Immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics screen is displayed.

  5. In the UEFI Main menu, select Component Tests.

  6. In the Component Tests menu, select Power

  7. In the Power menu, select the AC Adapter test.

  8. Run the test and follow the onscreen instructions.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you Echo_lake

Bios is fine but adapter test failed. Called HP service center. They want me to come with the Laptop and the adapter. Will go in next 2-3 days and lets see if they are able to help further diagnostic with an alternative adapter. The laptop is under warranty.
