My fingerprint sign in option was disabled when HP Software Framework was installed last July 10, 2020 via an update. Need help on how I can restore this.
Many thanks

@manny7319 In that case, please create a new user account and check if that works, if not, this could be a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:
1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!
Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

@manny7319 Here's what I suggest you do:
Install the HP Simple Pass Identity Protection Software for Windows 10: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71729.exe
If the issue persists, Please Click here to download the most viable driver for Windows 10 fingerprint reader (if need be) & if your Simple Pass Software isn't working:
Click here to download a different version of the same software.
P.S: Welcome to HP Community 😉

Thank you for your kind reply.
I have tried downloading and installing everything that you suggested Riddle_Decipher, none of it worked. The closest I got was when I installed this : ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71729.exe, and tried setting up the Windows Hello Fingerprint, the fingerprint image appeared briefly as if the installation was going thru, and then suddenly it stops, the prompt reads "something went wrong", tried the whole set up again, did not work and for several attempt the fingerprint image did not even appear.
Thanks again, hopefully you can still send me some more suggestions, I just got this laptop brand new, its barely 3 months old..
