This series of machines do not have M.2 slot for storage therefore you can ONLY upgrade 2.5" HDD now to a faster 2.5" SSD (1TB or 2TB).

Your machine supports 2.5" SDD's/HDD's with 7mm or 9.5mm thickness. Few SSD's now only have 6.5mm thickness but you still can find many SSD's with 7mm thickness around.

What I normally do to save time, keep all programs, data, files ...

  (a) Mount SSD to an external enclosure (USB 3.0),

  (b) Clone old HDD to new SSD,

  (c) Physically swap

Now you can use old HDD as an external drive.

Regards.
