when I run hp support  assistant, other functions such as repairing sound problems are missing completely

I do not find Windows 11 as supported on your machine.

That is not as important as whether the system overall works as expected running in Windows 11.

Your system is dependent on using Windows Updates to keep the system current and running.

 

If you performed an in-place Upgrade to get to Windows 11,

The version of the HP Support Assistant might be stuck at an older version.

Software and Drivers for Windows 10 does indicate that the application version of the HPSA could be installed.

 

NOTE

Because your system is not supported in Windows 11, even assuming a newer version of the HPSA installs,

  • HPSA might not provide the tools you expect and / or any tools might not work as expected.
  • HPSA cannot / will not find Driver Updates for your Windows 11 Operating System.

 

 

If you have not done so,

If you wish to do so,

Try / Consider

Find and Uninstall the HP Support Assistant from Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Check -- if you find HP Support Solutions in Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features

(then)  Uninstall HP Support Solutions

Restart the computer and sign in

Install a new copy of the latest HP Support Assistant from the website:

To save the system from spinning on a process it cannot complete, Switch OFF the Automated Updates in Settings.

 

Example - HPSA Application > Settings > Software Updates Settings

What else?

 

If HP Support Assistant on your machine is not providing the troubleshooting and / or tools you want and need,

Use another method to "get there from here".

 

Understand that Troubleshooting that depends on finding a Windows 11 HP driver to solve the issue won't be able to provide the results you expect.

Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters

Select and Run

 

Also - Troubleshoot computer problems

Control Panel > icon view > Troubleshooting

 

and - not Troubleshooting > the Windows Tool Set

Control Panel > icon view > Windows Tools
