i wanted to know if I can upgrade my ram which is currently 8gb to 16gb?

Your machine is an HP Notebook - 15g-dr0006tx, its specs

It has  8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) now. If you wish to upgrade to 16GB you can simply add same existing 8GB to slot 2.

 

HP uses RAM from few suppliers, please use a tool called CPU-Z to find out what is it and buy the same and install to your machine to get full benefit of dual channels architecture.

 

You can also use information from CPU-Z to buy compatible (similar) RAM from other vendors.
