According to parts list, your model came with an Intel i7 7th gen processor/8 GB DDR3L-1600 memory/ 1 TB hard drive.

HP PartSurfer

 

You service manual (on page 2) indicates your notebook supports 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR3L-1600 memory.

HP Envy Notebook 17 (model numbers 17-s100 through 17-s199 and 17-s000 through 17-s099) Maintenance ...

 

If you want 32 GB (2x16), click the link below and run the wmic command to see the max RAM your model can take.
