Product: HP Laptop - 14-dk1013od
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

Spilled water on my HP laptop, knew to immediately unplug, remove battery and allow to dry fully. Once turned on the battery did not work. Replaced the battery, then keyboard did not work neither, replaced that and only the numeric keys work. I hooked up an USB external keyboard and the same issue is occurring. I can not even enter my password due to it containing letters and symbols. What could be the problem?

The water spill has damaged the motherboard I'm afraid.

So it is a paper weight now? Or could I purchase a motherboard replacement?

You could. But its not inexpensive and the labor to do the replacement is also not cheap. Figure maybe $300-500 expense all in. If you want to do it, post back and we can find you the part and instructions.
