My laptop charger has ceased working. It has just stopped working. It does not output power anymore. I am around 2 months beyond my warranty. Can hp do anything about this. I believe consumer rights state that an item must work for a reasonable length of time regardless of the length of the warranty.

Where are you located (country)? It is beyond the scope of this Forum to advise you on your legal rights, but AC adapters can be purchased for relatively little expense whereas trying to slog your way through a legal challenge could be time-consuming.
Oh and you have not registered any issue with HP Warranty by posting here. This is an end user to end user forum and is not part of the HP Support machinery.
