laptop cooling upgrade

I want to replace the thermal pads in the cooling system of the laptop. What size (width in millimeters) should I order?

That info is not in the Service Manual. That means it is best to remove the cooling system and measure. I might also say that the best upgrade to the cooling system is to replace any soft thermal pads with copper shims and use thermal compound on copper shims rather than the thermal pads. Metal to metal contact would not require shims but wherever there is a cooling pad, remove it and replace with a stack of copper plate shims just thick enough so there is a little downforce then put some Arctic silver (sparingly on the top and bottom of the shim stack.
