Hp envy m6-k022dx

When I plug the charger in (as I've always had to have it plugged to use the notebook) the light is white. When I turn on the computer  it turns to orange and the computer will run for maybe a minute before turning off. I was once able to get it to work when the white light was blinking, but I cannot get it to do that again. I took off the back but the battery is built in and I don't want to screw around with it and damage it. I tried to get the program menu in but it refused to open.

@Mojay30,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂 I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I see from your post that you are having issues related to your HP notebook. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you recently made any hardware or software changes on the PC before the issue started?

Is it the power light on the power button or the place where the charger plugs into the laptop (charging light).

Have you checked if the computer shuts down even in the Bios screen?

Have you tried to update the Bios?

The charging light will stay on indicating that the battery is getting charged. Moreover, please check if the laptop is shutting down completely.

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop.

Boot the computer into the Bios screen and check if the issue persists.

1. Turn off your computer
2. Make sure you have connected the power cable
3. Turn on your notebook, as it is starting press the  F10 button repeatedly

Once you are in the BIOS, if the computer shuts down, it is likely a hardware failure.

If the computer stays on  in the Bios, then this could be a software or driver issue.

I would suggest here is to update the Bios on your computer from our HP support website, using this link (Please select the correct Operating system before downloading the latest bios).

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,

give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.
