@Godofuri

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP ENVY 15-ae023tx Notebook. I understand that the orange light is not working when you mute the sounds, and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • Were there any software/hardware changes made?
  • Since when you are experiencing this issue?

Meanwhile, you can try these steps.

Install and run HP quick launch software.

And update high definition audio driver.

If the issue is resolved and you appreciate my help,

Please click the "Accept as Solution" button and the "Thumbs Up".

Let me know how you make out.

Cheers
