Could be a few things...dead battery, dirty/oxidized battery connectiions from the battery to the notebook. Faulty adapter.

Can you power up without the battery?
There has been a recall on specific battery numbers, see here:
Battery maybe totally dead.
Charger- are you sure it's lit and shows an indication of charging.

Hi Paul there seems to be no dirty connections. it just stop charging all of a sudden! the adopter is working good.maybe best thing is to try and replace the battery. thanks for the advice fran

WB2001 Thanks so much for that help my model of latop is on that list u gave me and in the time frame when they say the fault happened since when i bought it ! I will get on to HP for a free repalcement....

It shows an indecator light to show its charging . and when i take the battery out pc works fine.
I tryed the battery rplacement program and says im not eligble !

I will try a new battery and see how it goes..

i have the exact same problem, the battery was working fine till a couple days ago but now it shows that the battery is 0% and is plugged in and charging but doesnt charge at all are there any possible solutions, i tried reinstalling the battery drivers in device manager but the battery sign only shows that it is charging for like 10seconds and then goes back to the normal
