Hi @kisu0,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Notebook 15 laptop is experiencing issues with fast battery drain and rapid charging. These symptoms might be due to a few possible causes, such as.
- Battery Wear: Over time, laptop batteries lose their capacity, which can cause them to drain quickly and charge faster than usual. You can check the battery health using the HP Support Assistant or Windows' built-in battery report tool.
- High Power Usage: Some background applications or settings may be consuming more power than necessary. Reducing screen brightness, disabling unused hardware (like Wi-Fi or Bluetooth), and checking for resource-hogging apps may help improve battery life.
- Faulty Power Adapter: Using a non-genuine or incompatible power adapter can cause fast charging but reduced battery life. Ensure you're using the original charger.
- ACPI Battery Driver Issues: Sometimes, issues with the battery driver (ACPI) can cause problems like these. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
