HP Recommended

after i installed an additional ram on my laptop, my ram speed change from 2400mhz into 2133mhz??

the ram that i added was 8gb ram of speed 2400mhz. 

i thought after i add the new ram my laptop would become 12 gb of ram with speed of 2400mhz but instead if becomes 12gb ram of speed 2133mhz.

can someone explain to me?
