Here are the components for your laptop on HP PartSurfer.  You will find the part # for the fan in the section titled "Fan".  It is not available from HP.  You can run the part # to see where you can buy it.

Thank you. Very helpful. I did an Amazon search and it seems that my fan, # 768021-001 is difficult to find. Is there a current HP fan that is a direct replacement for 768021-001?

I am not aware of a replacement for the fan.  However, here is the fan at an online seller.  I am not familiar with the seller, but you can contact them to see if they are legitimate.

Thanks for your help. I opened my Pavilion again yesterday and the fan is actually model # 779598-001. I have a replacement on order.
