I got a problem that my computer trells me that the cooling fan isn't working correctly. Any idea what it can be, and is there something I as individual could do or do I need to hand in my computer to the tech support directly?

In a laptop, this can be a dangerous situation as the processor will overheat without a working fan.

If the fan is simply stuck, you can try spraying compressed air from one of those cans you get at office supply stores.  That will remove gunk blocking the vents and free up the fan.

But, if it is still not running after that, it could be that it has failed -- and in that case, it would need to be replaced.

IF the PC is still under the original one-year warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely.

If they are unable to fix your PC, then you need to explore what options you have to get it replaced under the warranty.

IF the PC is not under warranty, for repair estimates, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.
If you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:

Good Luck
