When removing the ethernet cable from the rj-45 port on the laptop 15t-dw300, the clip on the connector piece gets damaged.
For security purposes, we connect and disconnect the ethernet cable at the end of each session.
Does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if users think that the rj-45 port is not holding the cable in when it is actually the connector clip on the end of the cable is damaged!
Would HP kindly replace the 6 damaged ethernet cables?
Would HP kindly send me a laptop with an rj-45 port that does not damage the cable clip?
(we cannot be without the machine for any period of time)
Thanks everyone!

Save yourself aggravation and get an inexpensive USB hub that have an ethernet connector build in.
Depending on the number of ports on the hub, you can get these for $15-30US.
I have several myself and they are amazing tools to keep in your toolkit

Thanks @RickMtl - that is a great idea. Both of the USB-A ports are in use, but will try the USB-C to ethernet. Found one on NewEgg for $7 with free shipping! Not sure about any added latency using it for symmetrical multi-machine network music performance that requires lowest latency possible. Thanks again!

Hi @LaptopLucy,
Don't buy one that is too cheap. Those are older models. I use mine for larger SD card too. The older ones won't ready the newer SD card (32G+) and watch out for the USB ports, most are USB 2.0 on the cheaper models. I bought a 7 in 1 and and even better 11 in out. These have HDMI, VGA, ethernet, PD (power delivery - ie can charge another device). Watch out for video ports too, they are not all created equal, some say USB-C but are not video compatible.
I wouldn't spend less than $35 US on a model, get one with PD and all USB 3 ports, plus one that can add 1-2 extra monitors to your laptop.
Good luck

You were spot on @RickMtl - the cheapo adapter is trash. Worked once and and the payload was about a third of what it should be, then wouldn't connect again! Lesson learned. I will have to save up for a better one unless HP steps up to help. Don't worry - I am being facetious! Thanks for your advice.
