hp probook 4330s
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I got hp probook 4330s, it has ssd 128gb and I wanted to upgrade it to 480gb, but nowadays I can get only SATA III. Will it work well on my old probook 4330s? Thanks and happy new year!

Yes all SATA versions are backwards and forwards compatible. You can put a SATA-I device on a SATA-III computer and vice versa and all versions in between. The transfer speed will default to the lowest speed of the devices.

The 4330s is SATA-II aka SATA-300. It will work fine with a SATA-III SSD or hard drive and in fact the difference between a SATA-III and SATA-II computer is hard to detect in actual use.

Hope that helps.

HI.

Sata is based on the data transfer rate a sata SLOT, it can support sata 3 but it is clear that the speed will be much less.

About your question storage capacity does not impact when it is incompatible, you can place a SSD with more capacity.
