ssd upgrade for hp omen pro 15

HP Recommended
Hp Omen Pro 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi community

I'd like to upgrade my ssd in my Hp Omen Pro 15 and I'm not sure which ssd is compatible.

The specs say I currently have a 512 GB, MLC, PCIe, M.2.2280 installed. I'd like to upgrade to a 1TB SSD.

Can I buy a PCIe 4.0 (or 3.0) SSD? Are they compatible?

I'd be very grateful if someone could point me to a compatible ssd.

Thanks

Laci

What is your Hp Omen Pro 15  ? Your machine may have 2 M.2 NVMe SSD bays/slots. We need to know what is it.

This is an old machine actually and sorry I did not know HP produced this product because HP Omen normally is the name for game machines.

Anyway its  Maintenance and Service Guide is

It does not support dual storage and only has one M.2 NVMe SSD slot therefore you can upgrade to 1TB or 2TH using

Or similar from reputable vendors.

I bought this ssd https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p1/ct1000p1ssd8 but unfortunately I'm having problems with it.

First I tried cloning my existing internal ssd with macrium reflect, but the laptop couldn't boot with that.

Then I tried a fresh install of Windows 10, but still I cannot boot from that ssd.

When I put it in a usb adaptor, then Windows can access it.

Any idea what the problem could be?

In the attached image you can see the internal disk 0 and the new ssd (disk 1)
