HP Recommended
hp spectre x360 model 4120ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought a ssd  Western Digital Blue SN550 NVMe to replace the drive on my HP spectre x360 model 4120ca .  i cloned the original drive to this one.  after installing it i rebooted the machine and found that the laptop didn't recognize the drive was installed.  any ideas?  thanks.

I am wondering if i should get the WD SATA drive instead.

https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-NAND-1TB-SSD-WDS100T2B0B/dp/B073SB2MXT/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1UNQYE4YDHLOT&dchi...

instead of this one

https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-SN550-1TB-NVMe-Internal/dp/B07YFFX5MD/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1UNQYE4YDHLOT&dchil...

since in the product description it had this for the ssd

Support for single PCIe / SATA M2
solid-state drive configuration as
storage (scope M2 2260/2280 DS
solid-state drive)
in the following configurations:
● 512-GB solid-state drive
supporting three-level
cell (TLC)
● 256-GB solid-state drive
supporting TLC

does this mean i should be installing the SATA drive instead?

@r3dster

Its specs

         https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04818170

it has M.2 SATA SSD. You can upgrade to larger (capacity) M.2 SATA SSD using

                  https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-mx500-ssd
                  https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/sata-ssd/ssd-870-qvo-sata-3-2-5-inch-1tb-mz-77q1t0bw/
        Or similar from reputable vendors.

Regards.

sorry but your recommendations are for 2.5" which doesn't fit into my laptop.  it's a m.2 2280.  my question is that should i use the m.2 sata or does the m.2 nvme work and its my installation which is the problem?
