How do I upgrade my HP Notebook my NIC Ethernet Adapter to one gigabit?

Hi:

Unfortunately, you can't because the ethernet chip is an integral part of the motherboard.

If your notebook has a free USB 3 port, you can purchase an external USB to RJ-45 gigabit ethernet adapter.

Thank you. I'll check it out,

You're very welcome.

Something like this is what I am referring to.

You need to plug it into a USB 3 port to get the full giabit ethernet connection speed.
