Dear HP Support Team,
My name is mike , and I own an HP Victus Laptop 16-d0004nv. I am interested in upgrading the RAM of my laptop from 16GB to 64GB to utilize programs like Vue xStream to their maximum potential.
I would like to know if my model officially supports this upgrade and if I need to update the BIOS or make any other changes to ensure the system functions correctly with 64GB of RAM.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Sincerely,
Mike Ekpaglos

Hi, Mike:
Officially, according to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-3200 CL22 memory.
You can run this command to see if your notebook can support more than 32 GB of memory:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
The Crucial memory report for the model series indicates it will support 2 x 32 GB of memory:

Chapter 5 of the manual does not list a requirement to update the BIOS prior to upgrading the memory like some manuals do for other HP notebooks.
However, this discussion shows that the notebook will support 2 x 32 GB of memory, but the person did have to update the BIOS.
