Hi,
my wifi adapter in my laptop (p6-2002sd) died on me: it's a Ralink RT5390R according to the device manager (card itself reads RT5390 - without the R at the end). I read there might be a whitelist in the BIOS preventing me from putting in just any wifi card. so here's the questions :
1) is there a whitelist in the BIOS at all ?
2) can you recommend a replacement part, as this ralink card is pretty old in the meantime ?
3) or can you list me the cards allowed in case of a whitelist ?
thanks in advance
/Walter

Hi, Walter:
You can only install one of the wifi adapters listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's maintenance and service guide, and they must have the HP part number on the card will not work, due to the BIOS whitelist.
That means you should search for a replacement wifi adapter by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
