Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

when trying to upgrade the hp pavilion 15-ec1001na i noticed that there is a black tape covering the ram and the m.2 ssd is this safe to remove while i change the ram and put back on after or is it just safe to remove in general. Thank you

Hi:

 

The manual doesn't mention anything about tape, in the memory removal and replacement procedure.

But no doubt, it is there for a reason, so I would recommend carefully peeling up the tape just enough to get to remove and replace the memory, and then carefully replace the tape.

 

It is probably some kind of insulation.
