I keep having to replace the ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver and it charges the battery - once,

then it reverts to "Plugged in, Not charging"

How can i fix this once and for all?

Windows tells me I have the most up to date drivers.

My hardware is an HP Pavilion Notebook M6K54AV 12GB Bios;F.80-06/14/2016

Me, too.  HP Envy.  I did a Windows update and it went away, then the next Windows update brought it back again.

I've got a cx-0513na gaming pavilion.

It's charging to a max of 96% and all this time is actually showing "Plugged in, Not charging".

I have followed all the steps given through HP Diagnostic Windows, no results.

I've been using HP assistant web tool to check the battery, I have calibrated it, still nothing.

The test came out with resolution PAST but CHARGING CONTROL FAILED

Uninstalled  ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver - no results.

Laptop still under warranty, bought it like a week ago. Really disappointed 😞
