Hello,
I want to upgrade the original ssd of zbook 15 g3 (pcle3.0)
Does samsung 980 pro m.2 nvme work in zbook 15 g3?
If yes, the difference of speed is noticeable?
If anyone has an experience, please help me.
Thanks in advance.

Samsung 980 Pro should work BUT at lower its speed, same as old SSD. Not faster.
Regards.

Thank you for your reply.
The original ssd of zbook 15 g3 is samsung SM961 nvme m.2 (read: up to 2260MB/s, write: up to 1600MB/s).
Samsung 980 pro m.2 nvme has specs of read 7000m write 5000m.
While I search in internet, it is said that the maximum speed of PCIe3.0(x4) is about 4 GB/s.
I expected that while the max speed of 980 pro(PCIe4.0) is limitted, maybe the actual speed can be close to 4gb/s.
Considering the specs above, do you still think that the actual speed will be as the same as old, that is, read 2260mb write 1600mb?
Thank you.

I don't know why HP put a slower drive at the beginning. You should get better but no more than PCIe 3x4
