Hi,

 

This usually means that the hard drive is failing or has failed and needs to be replaced. You can use any 2.5" drive and could install an SSD for better performance. You can see on page 50 of service manual how to replace drive.

You will need to install the OS by using HP recovery disks or downloading the tool from Microsoft (on different computer) and running to create a bootagble USB drive with Windows 10. It will be automatically activated once installed as long as you install the same version (home or pro) as was already installed on computer.
