Hi @RaffiO,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to boot up your HP Notebook and suddenly be flooded with 20 browser tabs of dead HP support links. It’s like your computer is trying to help, but ends up overwhelming you instead. Let’s fix that so your mornings start with peace, not pop-ups.

Step-by-Step Fix

Step 1: Disable HP Support Assistant from Startup

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  2. Go to the Startup tab.
  3. Find HP Support Assistant or anything HP-related.
  4. Right-click and choose Disable.

Step 2: Uninstall HP Support Assistant (if corrupted)

  1. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.
  2. Find HP Support Assistant in the list.
  3. Right-click and choose Uninstall.

You can reinstall a fresh version later from HP Support Assistant.

Step 3: Clean Up Scheduled Tasks

  1. Press Windows + S, type Task Scheduler, and open it.
  2. Look under Task Scheduler Library > HP.
  3. Delete any tasks that launch support URLs or browser instances.

Step 4: Clear Browser Startup Tabs

If your browser is set to reopen tabs:

  • Open your browser settings.
  • Disable “Continue where you left off” or remove HP links from startup pages.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
