HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After installing the latest Windows 10 update I receive the following error message upon start-up:

accelerometerst.exe system error

The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

What do I do to correct this problem?

Hello @dwright257

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

Please, reinstall / redownload:

Visual C++ redistributable:

>> https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145

HP 3D Drive Guard:

>> ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp67001-67500/sp67280.exe

This should fix the issue. Let me know if this helps and answers your query.
