Hi @Sahil9898

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for describing the situation clearly. Since this is your first time setting up your HP Envy x360 14-fa000sa, and the laptop freezes at the "Name your device" screen, here's exactly how you can resolve it.

This may be caused by a setup glitch, incomplete preloaded files, or a driver issue on first boot.

1. Force a Full Restart

Let’s start fresh:

Hold the power button for 10–15 seconds until the laptop shuts off completely.

Wait a few seconds.

Power it on again and see if the setup resumes or resets.

If it still hangs at the same spot, move to step 2.

2. Reset the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE)

You can trigger a clean restart of the Windows setup process:

When you’re stuck on the “Name your device” screen, press:
Shift + F10 — this will open a command prompt.

Type the following and press Enter:

  1. oobe\msoobe

This should re-launch the setup process.

If it hangs again, continue to step 3.

3. Use HP Cloud Recovery or Fresh Windows Install

If the setup fails repeatedly, the preloaded installation may be corrupted. You can recover using HP’s official recovery system.

Option A: HP Cloud Recovery

On another working computer, go to:
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06162205

Download the HP Cloud Recovery Tool.

Use a 16 GB or larger USB drive to create a recovery drive.

Boot your Envy x360 from this USB and follow the steps to reinstall Windows and HP software.

Option B: Use Microsoft Media Creation Tool

If HP recovery isn’t working, you can install Windows 11 cleanly:

On another PC, go to:
https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Create a bootable USB.

Boot your laptop using the USB (press Esc repeatedly > F9 to select boot device).

Install Windows 11, and then use HP Support Assistant to install drivers afterward.

Let me know if you want help with creating the recovery USB or if you're stuck at a specific step.

You're close—this is fixable, and we’ll get you past setup soon.
