HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2, Biolucida Viewer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi - I am not certain if this is an OS issue or an application issue. Since I noticed there was another problem with starting another application a while back I think it might be an OS issue.

I installed "Biolucida Viewer" on my Laptop successfully. But as soon as I want to start the app it will not open.

Error in the log:

Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: BiolucidaViewer.exe, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x5e14d845
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: ISD_Tablet.dll, Version: 7.3.4.35, Zeitstempel: 0x5a274039

ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x1f60
Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01d60f51e6cf5915
Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Program Files\MBF Bioscience\Biolucida Viewer\BiolucidaViewer.exe
Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ISD_Tablet.dll
Berichtskennung: 91571d03-7561-4988-9813-9702dac8c83d

Does anyone have an idea what I could try? Thank you so much in advance!

I was able to resolve the problem. I found a hint on the internet someone mentioning the DLL in the error log in reference to Wacom. After uninstalling the driver of my Wacom tablet all programs that did not start before will start now.

@WaWood - thank you for your help!

Sorry, but since this is just a self-help Support Community staffed mostly by volunteers, we have no capability for debugging problems with third-party (i.e., non-HP) applications.

For help with this issue, you have to contact the vendor of the application or their support forum.

Good Luck

Hi there

I totally understand this. But I had this issue with another application too so I thought this might be something more than a simple App error.

All the best

OK -- so apps "in general" not starting is nearly always a corrupted file system issue, and that is nearly always caused by a failing hard drive.  But when that is happening, you almost always see other issues as well, like problems booting (sometimes works, sometimes does not), applications not loading (due to missing files), problems saving changed files (due to corrupt file system).

If you're seeing any of these other issues, then it is a more general problem and I would suspect a failing drive.

If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu -- that will look similar to the image below
HP Startup Menu.jpg
3) press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
