Spectrex360

IS anyone else entirely frustrated by the Spectre x360 laptops? I bought two for my graduating seniors in 2018 and the laptops have had an endless stream of problems since then.  One now has corrupted BIOS files and after 2 hours on the phone with HP the solution is to restore it to factory settings --after we've had it for nearly 3 years!  These were our first HPs and our last.

Hi@Will101, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

The operating system to factory settings.

  1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. Click Advanced system settings.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. In the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.
  5. Click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

If you've been using the Recovery Partition (F11) to reinstall the OS, I recommend using the Recovery media instead to wipe out the HDD and create a new partition and fresh OS installation: Click here to obtain one, if you don't have on in your possession.

or HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) Link

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
