HP Pavilion Laptop Model 15-EG0108TX 2R8B5PA#UUF

After a failed windows update, getting bios 500 error

Screen is black after boot, with fan running

Tried doing the Recovery using USB bios recovery method, it is able to load into the BIOS recovery page, successfully write and verify and go into the countdown restart page.

But after that, it goes back into the BIOS 500 error notification

followed by black screen.

Not able to access to UEFI menu, the BIOS menu or the boot menu.

Please help on what else I can do

@burokumo, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect all external devices and remove the power adapter.
  • Perform a hard reset by holding the power button for at least 15 seconds. Reconnect the power adapter and try to power on the laptop.

Update BIOS

  • Navigate to the Official HP Support site.
  • Enter the serial number or product name, and click on "Submit".
  • Select your operating system and version, then click on "Submit".
  • Click the plus (+) sign to expand "All Drivers".
  • Select the BIOS System Firmware (latest).
  • Click the "Download" button and follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the update.

I suggest you refer to this guide: HP PCs - 500, 501, or 502 error displays on a black screen | HP® Support

I hope this helps.
