BIOS update

So my laptop was not charging with charger plugged in. Whenever I unplug the charger, laptop shuts down then I get a 502 error of CMOS getting invalid checksum. Then it automatically reboots and starts windows, but the problem still persists. I searched online and found out that it could be a BIOS update issue. So I proceeded to install BIOS update from HP official website. However, HP is taking forever detecting my device after submitting my serial number. It is still loading. 

Any help would be much appreciated.

(1) Download and install BIOS Update

(2) Reboot

(3) Let BIOS be installed until it's completely done !

(4) Download and install / update

I successfully updated BIOS, but unfortunately my laptop is still not charging. If you can add anything in this regard that would be much appreciated, any good link is good enough as well.
