Hi @DLVDGOMA,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP laptop shows a “Boot Device Not Found” message, but you’re still able to log in sometimes. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power reset the laptop

Turn the laptop off, unplug the charger, and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Reconnect the charger and power it on to clear temporary boot detection issues.

Check BIOS boot order

Turn on the laptop and repeatedly tap Esc, then press F10 for BIOS Setup.

Ensure the internal hard drive / SSD is listed first in the boot order.

Save changes and exit.

Run HP hardware diagnostics

Restart the laptop and tap Esc, then press F2.

Run storage/hard drive tests (quick test first, then extensive).

Intermittent detection often points to a failing drive.

Check BIOS drive detection

In BIOS (F10), verify whether the hard drive or SSD is consistently detected.

If it sometimes appears and sometimes doesn’t, the drive or its connection may be unstable.

Update BIOS (if system boots normally)

When you’re able to log in, update the BIOS using HP’s official update tool.

Firmware updates can improve storage detection and boot stability.

Back up your data immediately

Since the system still boots occasionally, copy important files to an external drive or cloud storage.

Intermittent boot errors often worsen over time.

I hope this helps.
