@Anonymous, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your battery charging question!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It sounds like your HP Pavilion G7 is no longer displaying the estimated time remaining for a full charge. Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:

Check Windows Power Settings

  • Right-click the battery icon in the taskbar and select Power Options.
  • Click on Change plan settings next to your selected power plan.
  • Click Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Battery and look for any settings related to battery time estimation.

Restart Your Laptop

  • A simple restart can sometimes resolve minor display issues.

Update Battery Drivers

  • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Batteries.
  • Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Update driver.
  • Restart your laptop and check if the estimated time reappears.

Run Battery Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Click Additional Troubleshooters (if available).
  • Select Power and run the troubleshooter.

Check HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP website if you don’t have it).
  • Go to the Battery and Performance section to see if any updates or diagnostics are available.

Reset the Battery

  • Shut down your laptop.
  • Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if it’s removable).
  • Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reinsert the battery, plug in the charger, and power on.

Check for BIOS Update

  • Go to HP official support website.
  • Enter your laptop’s model and check for BIOS updates.
  • Follow instructions carefully to update.

If none of these steps work, it could be a software limitation in newer Windows versions, or the battery itself may be wearing out. Let me know if you need further help! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
