HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-f1000 (2L1B1AV)

I bought this laptop in July of this year and I only have used it for 4 months.   The battery will not completely charge  stays at 26% with the LT being continuously  plugged in to electrical  outlet.    Also,  your virtual assistant said my warranty expired in November of 2024 which is 9 months before my purchase date.

@debmc25, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Verify Power and Charging Behavior

Disconnect the AC adapter from your laptop.

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain any residual power.

Plug the adapter directly into a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).

Power on the laptop and check if the charging LED near the port glows solid (amber/white).

Amber = charging.

White = fully charged.

Blinking or off = charging fault.

If it’s blinking or off, continue below.

Run HP Battery Diagnostics (UEFI)

Turn the laptop off.

Power it on and immediately tap the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.

Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

Choose Component Tests → Power → Battery and run the test.

If the result shows Battery Check: FAILED, note the failure ID code.

Reset the Battery and BIOS Power Control

After diagnostics, restart and press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.

Press F9 to load Setup Defaults, then F10 to save and exit.

Once in Windows, right-click the battery icon → Power Options → Additional Power Settings → Change Plan Settings → Restore Default Settings for This Plan.

Update BIOS and Power Controller

Open HP Support Assistant → Updates → install any BIOS or System Firmware updates.

Restart and observe if the battery begins charging past 26%.

Warranty Date Correction

Could you please send me these details via private message? I'd be happy to assist you in getting the warranty fixed.
