Hello, first time using these forums and I hope that you can help me. I turned on my HP Victus notebook/laptop this afternoon and it was fine. I saw that it needed a few driver updates like bios etc. So, as per usual, I set it to update

Things were going well and then I got black screened and it stayed like this for 30 minutes. I left it alone and hoped that it would work but no.

I tried the hard rest of pushing the power button down for 30 seconds. A couple of times I got back to the firmware update screen but then it went to black again. Got an error message which said it was going to reset. I pressed enter and again, a long wait and it just stayed black.

I tried Windows B/V and all combinations to get into the bios and fix this problem but alas nothing works.

On the most recent hard boot I was able to get to the screen which says "Firmware Update... do not power off etc"

It has been stuck like this for about 20 minutes now. Can someone assist me here?

Thank you

Update, after 7 hours of trying, I eventually fixed this problem myself

Previous attempts at booting the bios driver update from the USB failed but after putting it into the usb closest to the powerjack, it worked.

Posting this here in case anyone else has a similar problem in the future. I have never experienced as bad a BIOS update as this in 24 years of regularly using Computers. Not sure what went wrong but there it is.
