The "Product Information Missing or Invalid (00A)" error usually occurs when the system board (motherboard) has been replaced or reprogrammed incorrectly. This message appears because the BIOS is missing key system identifiers such as the Product Name, Serial Number, SKU, and System Board CT Number.

🔹 Possible Causes:

1️⃣ Motherboard replacement – If the system board was replaced, the new board needs to be reprogrammed with the correct product information.
2️⃣ BIOS corruption/reset – A BIOS update or reset might have erased system identifiers.
3️⃣ Unauthorized changes – If system settings were modified incorrectly, this error can appear.

 

🔧 How to Fix:

✅ Step 1: Check BIOS

1. Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS Setup.
2. Navigate to System Information and check if details like Product Name and Serial Number are missing.

✅ Step 2: Reprogram the System Board Information

• HP uses a tool called HP DMI Tool or HP NBDMIFIT to restore the missing details.
• Unfortunately, this tool is not publicly available and is restricted to HP authorized service centers.

✅ Step 3: Contact HP Support
Since this tool is HP-restricted, you will need to contact HP Support India or visit an HP Authorized Service Center to reprogram the system board.

• If the laptop is out of warranty, the service center may charge a fee for reprogramming.

Yip, that's why I mentioned that HP uses a tool called HP DMI Tool or HP NBDMIFIT to restore the missing details.  Unfortunately, this tool is not publicly available and is restricted to HP authorized service centers.
